Saf-Levure is a classic dehydrated active dry yeast (92-93% dry matter) produced by Lesaffre, the world leader in yeast manufacturing. Unlike "instant" yeasts, Saf-Levure comes in the form of small spherical granules. This specific structure provides outstanding shelf-life and stability, making it the preferred choice in tropical or humid climates where other yeasts might degrade quickly at ambient temperatures.

Because the yeast cells are "dormant" and protected by a layer of deactivated cells, Saf-Levure must be rehydrated (proofed) before use. This involves dissolving the granules in warm water or milk (ideally between 35°C and 40°C) for about 5 to 10 minutes until it becomes foamy. Once activated, it can be used in any bread-making process, from traditional hand-kneaded loaves to complex brioches and pizzas.

This 500g vacuum-sealed tin is highly economical for frequent bakers and small businesses. Price of goods and delivery charges

  • The price of the Goods does not include delivery charges. Often we do not charge for delivery, but we reserve the right to do so. In those cases where a delivery charge will be applied, this will be stated in our formal offer to supply the Goods, and we will not proceed to delivery without your express acceptance of the offer.
  • If we offer you an alternative product to replace an item which is out of stock, we shall not be obliged to match the price of the original product.
  • Promotional prices apply during periods of 2 calendar months' duration (the first such period in the year being January to February, and so on through the year); our paper catalogues are current for the same periods.
